Include your order reference or other proof of purchase where available. You do not need a reason to exercise a statutory change-of-mind cancellation right.
Consumer distance purchases
For most goods bought by a consumer under a distance contract, you can notify us of cancellation within 14 days after receiving the goods, then have another 14 days to send them back. An in-store purchase does not normally have this statutory change-of-mind right.
Refunds and return costs
For a valid distance cancellation, refunds include the cheapest standard outbound delivery offered. Refunds are due within 14 days after we receive the returned goods or evidence of sending them back, whichever is earlier. A deduction may apply for handling beyond what is needed to inspect the goods. Return costs and, for bulky items, their cost or estimate must be explained before the contract; do not assume returns are free.
Exceptions and trade purchases
Some statutory cancellation exceptions apply, including genuinely made-to-specification or personalised goods. A standard product ordered specially for you is not automatically exempt. Business purchases and voluntary change-of-mind returns are subject to separately agreed terms.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
Change-of-mind exclusions do not remove statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods. Contact us promptly with details so we can discuss the remedy and return arrangements. Photographs can help but are not a condition of your statutory rights.
Cancellation notice
You can use any clear cancellation statement. For example: To AK PLASTICS & PLUMBING MATERIALS LTD at the address or email above: I/we give notice that I/we cancel my/our contract for the following goods: [goods]. Ordered on/received on: [date]. Consumer name: [name]. Consumer address: [address]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only for a notice sent on paper].
